Abstract

In this study we will design a biometric payment system for petrol pumps where customers will get themselves registered at any petrol pump outlets and will be able to make payment through this innovative payment solution. The following methods will be used for the payment through biometric system: prepayment, payment by standing order, or through direct debit from their account. Many studies have revealed the increase in number of identity and security theft at petrol pumps in various countries. Moreover, these days people are also facing tough time while transacting at a petrol pump during rush hours; petrol pump owners and their workers also have difficulty in dealing with petty cash they receive as payment from their customers. The biometric payment solution will ensure a speedy, comfortable and the most secured way of low-cost payment system at petrol pumps. The study will mention in detail as to what needs to be done at petrol pump outlet and at customer level for the implementation and use of this system. A complete review of the pros and cons and usage of the biometric system at petrol pump is done through SWOC analysis.
