Abstract

Organisations are exhibiting emphasis on the human resource development policies to become employee friendly as they are the tangible assets and face value. In the banking service organisations, the employees have to be competent, dynamic, resilient with a global outlook, for which proper and timely strategic human resource development interventions should be identified and implemented. The interventions by which core competencies of the employees can be achieved are derived from the study area through employee empowerment, performance appraisal, training and development and HR audit. By incorporating strategic focus in the HRD intervention activities along with business development goals, the competency level of employees can be enhanced. The employees can become self– motivated to work as team players by integration of proper strategic interventions for their personal and professional growth and development. The creative, innovative and dynamic employees will definitely perform to their maximum level for achieving business and profit of the organisation.
