Abstract To engage new customers, firms often introduce lucrative deals and discounts. Thus, the customers attracted by these offers are termed as encouraged arrivals in this paper. These encouraged arrivals result in heavy rush in the system at times, which puts limited service facility under pressure and which in turn results in service dissatisfaction, and a dissatisfied customer may rejoin the queue again for satisfactory service completion. The customers rejoining the queue again due to dissatisfaction are termed as feedback customers in this paper. To analyse the aspects discussed above, a multiserver infinite capacity Markovian feedback queuing model with encouraged arrivals is developed in this paper. Steady-state solution of the model is solved recursively, and various measures of performances are derived and explained with a numerical illustration.
