Abstract Most instructional technologies have emerged in the last 30 years, real object models, printed text, printed visuals, overhead transparencies, slides, films, tapes, videos, television and the list continues. Each time it was said that the technology will bring revolution in educational sector, but in fact their impact was only marginal. As a consequence, disconcert among students has grown over time regarding the way of teaching. In the era where we talk about active learning, collaborative learning, cooperative learning, and experiential learning class room hardly stands to the standard of learning expected. The advent of Information Technology (IT) with growing access to electronic educational resources over internet is making educators to rethink and readjust to the changing environment of teaching and learning. So, the present paper focuses on the use of information technology in teaching learning process that will greatly contribute to meet student needs for learning anywhere, anytime.
