Enumeration of Algal Flora Collected From Water Bodies of Kumaun Himalaya, Uttaranchal Joshi Hema Department of Botany, S.S. J. Campus (Kumaun University), Uttaranchal, ALMORA. Abstract The paper presents algal flora collected from various polluted and unpolluted water bodies like ponds, lakes, ditches, pools, rivers and streams of Kumaun Himalaya. The collection is based on intensive field surveys during 1985–2004. Species of green algae and diatoms were very common in fresh and clean waters whereas polluted water was inhabitated by species of cyanophyceae.
