Psycho-social Risk Factors of Cardiovascular Disease among the Female Sunni Muslim of Delhi, Pilot study Bansal Astha*, Saraswathy K N**, Joshi P C** *Research Scholar, University of Delhi, Delhi **University of Delhi, Delhi Online published on 31 August, 2012. Abstract This pilot study investigates psychosocial risk factors of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among the female Sunni Muslims of Delhi. Socioeconomic, psychosocial and behavioral measures were obtained through an interview schedule. Study revealed that the female Sunni Muslim seems to be not at risk for factors like severe depression (10%), high stress (10%) and low physical activity (2%). Majority of the female fall under the risk for personality type A (60%), lower middle socio-economic status (50%) andnon-vegetarian diet (100%) indicating that this population is at riskfor the CVD with respect to the mentioned variables.
