Though the criticism is always not fair, there is genuine perception amongst the people that police organisation are not able to manage changes as fast as it is expected from them. The overall work environment of police, particularly of subordinates and middle rank officers, is dehumanizing and de-intellectualizing. Fatigue by work. inadequate time for families, sleep disturbance, unpredictable duty hours are major stress factors in the life of Indian police. They do not give up their basic rights by signing to the police services. The humane condition of work is the key to the efficient and effective working of the policemen.
