The dynamics of indo-us strategic relations

Abstract

Strategic relations between India and the US have evolved steadily over the years, steered by multiple factors. Growing bilateral ties in the economic arena have found resonance in military relations as well as cooperation in the field of civil nuclear energy. Notwithstanding the steady evolution of the relationship, there are differences in their respective ambitions, concerns, power and roles and they have divergent perspectives on international issues. Based on the grey areas, this paper argues that the Indo-US strategic partnership may not be poised to be as promising as some leaders and scholars from both sides assert.
