Loomba Deepak

Abstract

This article analysis the rationale between the religious Two-Nation Theory used to justify the carving of Pakistan out of undevided India. It examines the patterns of behaviour exhibuted by the Muslims of the subcontinent at the time of partition with regard to Pakistan and India and concludes that Muslims in both territorial areas were far from unanimous in their opinion on this crutial matter. It suggest that this also applies to the Kashmir Valley at present. Accordingly, the Government of India must adopt and implement policies tailored to defferent ideological and social sectors to weaken and isolate the anti-Indian Islamic fundamentalist forces.
