Abstract Micro Small and Medium Enterprises forms the backbone of Indian economy and despite many constraints in the last few years, MSME occupies a place of pride covering the largest industries in the world and India also. The contribution of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector to manufacturing output, employment and exports of the country is very significantly important, because it covers broad fields from manufacturing to services sector.Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) is referred to as the engine of the Indian economy as well as the catalysts for the socio-economic transformation of people and the country. They are an essential source of jobs, create entrepreneurial spirit and employment in the country and are thus crucial for fostering competitiveness and innovation.SMEs represent a veritable vehicle for the achievement of national economic objectives of employment and poverty reduction at low investment cost. India is a vast country and it's a proud for us that almost 60% employment is drawn from MSMEs.The stimulation of economic activities such as suppliers of various items and distributive trades by the SMEs, stemming from rural urban migration, enhancement of standard of living of the employees of the SMEs and their dependents as well as those who are directly and indirectly associated with them. The present study seeks to interpret the various problems faced by the entrepreneurs of District Rajouri and Poonch and also identify the challenges for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in this area and remedial measures are also mentioned below.
