A study on employees welfare measures at retail sector in Chennai

Abstract

The major purpose of the research is to improve the welfare measures in the company which will satisfy the employees’ basic need and wants and also to improve the carrier growth of employees as well as employer and to control the attrition within the company. Objective of the research is to find out safety measures and other facilities provided by the company, to identify the statutory welfare measures and act practicing in the company and the level of satisfaction of employees towards non- statutory welfare measures and to examine the welfare measures and schemes provided by the company. The study includes as Descriptive research design. The Statistical tools used for the study includes Chi-square, Kruskal-wallis test, Correlation weighted average, Factor analysis and Percentage analysis. It is found that 88% of the respondents are agreeing the job security in their company, 100% of the employees are agreeing the payment of gratuity by the top management to experienced employees in the company, 92% of respondents are aware about welfare, Management can also support the employees for the sales and service to the customer by providing the new stocks and maintain the stock level in the store.
