Abstract Social networking is the business buzzword of the moment. Recruiting best practices are changing in recent times. Recruitment is an important tool in an organization's HR kit to make organization competitive in today's global market. Traditional methods of posting jobs and contacting candidates are losing effectiveness, so recruiters are taking innovative approaches of finding talent. Recruiters are most concerned with their ability to find qualified candidates quickly. Technology advancements and social media platforms are providing many opportunities for recruiters. Recruiters and hiring managers are applying technology and social media to bypass traditional methods of posting jobs so they can connect with passive candidates directly. Social media offers a cost-effective approach that can give the biggest impact for the money. Social networking sites are now being used by recruiters to recruit talent and implement training. The smart talented people are using social networking sites as an external form of the business card and resumed combined. Many traditional recruiters and training and development services may soon find themselves out of business unless they take advantage of the social networking revolution and its growing impact on business and training.
