Abstract

Management Education is in the limelight in the recent past and has drawn the attention of the industry as well as entrepreneurs. The quality of Education offered is at stake and the challenges are manifold ranging from skills shortage, dismal placement, contemporary curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation. The mushroomed growth of B-Schools has created an imbalance and resulted in lopsided development on the supply side. The job opportunities have not grown proportionately with the growth in the MBA seats. But, the quality of education imparted is not par with the growth in seats. Hence a problem is identified to study the status of MBA programs in Tamil Nadu. 250 MBA students identified from various parts of Tamil Nadu are surveyed through an administered questionnaire. Suggestions for enhancing the quality of management education are provided and quality enhancement is vital for the survival of this sect of Higher Education.
