E-Commerce and Digital India Reena Research Scholar Imsar, MDU, Rohtak Online published on 2 May, 2018. Abstract E-commerce has immensely increased economic growth in domestic welfare and changes have arisen in the market scenario too. Internet represents a new environment for extensive growth of e-commerce, providing exchange of goods and services and also directing access of customer's own personal accounts online. It is a well-known fact that digital India is the outcome of many innovations and technological advancements. These transform the lives of people in many ways and will empower the society in a better manner. The ‘Digital India ’programme, an initiative of honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, will emerge new progressions in every sector. The motive behind the concept is to build participative, transparent and responsive system. Due to the digital revolution, the e-commerce sector in India increases from $3.8 billion in 2009 to $17 billion in 2014. It is expected to cross $100 billion within the next five years which will contribute more than 4% to India's GDP. E-commerce provides a useful resource for the growth of MSME's and all aspects of the rural community. This research paper is mainly based on secondary data.
