The Impact of Erp Systems on Business Decision-Making in Pharmaceutical Company

Abstract

“Real time information is one of the major challenges in the market especially in Pharmaceutical industry where the information is one of the major concerns”. In this paper, the authors will introduce you to the Enterprise Resource planning system and refer to its impact on business decision-making process in pharmaceutical company. Management was using the old traditional method to take the business decision, “Enterprise Resource Planning as a business solution can help pharmaceutical companies to integrate their business process across the organization (Finance, Sales and Distribution, Inventory, Production Planning, Procurement)”. ERP implementation has helped avoid data duplication, ensured that data is reliable, accurate and real time, with the chances of discrepancies are very low, supporting faster and correct decision-making, reduce costs through increased flexibility and Reduce the duration, complexities for completing the Sales and Distribution business cycle. Proposed research will be done through literature review by using secondary data from various pharmaceutical companies Case Studies, ERP implementation Blueprints, Books, Magazines and Research Paper in this area.

Not much research has been done on ERP and especially in Pharmaceutical industry. “The findings will help decision makers to improve organizations efficiency and Financial gains.
