Impact & challenges of digital economy: An empirical study

Abstract

In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the impact and challenges of Digital Economy: An empirical study. Digital economy is an economy where maximum transactions are done without using the physical cash or the means of hard cash. With the facilities like credit card, debit cards and on line transactions fund transfer and using ewallets etc. Digital economy initiative has not only helped the fast transactions but at the same time it has saved lot of resources. In the global scenario people have started doing in digital transactions. Academicians, Politicians, Administrators and above all the economists, all over the world has strongly advocated about going digital from the cash rich economy. A sample of 150 respondents was randomly selected from the Chandigarh city. It is found that variable namely gender, age, and occupation have significant association with the impact and challenges of Digital Economy. Whereas Educational Qualification and family status has non-significant association with the impact and challenges of Digital Economy.
