Abstract There has always been a need of social development, economic success and financial security for the society. The Government of India (GOI) has set up MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Ltd.) with an ‘authorised capital of Rs.1000 Crores and paid up capital Rs. 750 Crores fully subscribed by SIDBI’ (Small Industries Development Bank of India). The SIDBI is supporting Indian small scale industry from 25 years. MUDRA has crushed the “Vicious Cycle” of middleman and money lenders who earlier used to exploit and control the Entrepreneur's. MUDRA is basically responsible for growth and refinancing of Micro Enterprises, with the objective of encouraging and generating income opportunities to all the sections of society. MUDRA is aimed to provide financial support in achieving the goal of funding the unfunded by providing loan under the schemes Shishu, Kishore and Tarun. The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) plays a vital role in this act. The present research paper on MUDRA with the help of secondary data collected from various published sources, analyze the performance of loan schemes in the state of Himachal Pradesh from financial year 2016–2018 by the use of statistical tools like mean, standard deviation and percentage method.
