Abstract Paris polyphylla is an important medicinal perennial herb belonging to order Liliales and family Melanthiaceae. The species is facing a decline in population due to its extensive medicinal value and high demand in the pharmaceutical industry. The roots and rhizomes of Paris polyphylla are widely utilized for their medicinal properties, serving as an antispasmodic, anthelmintic, expectorant, digestive stomachic, and vermifuge.
