Online Published on 18 December, 2023. Abstract During present study biochemical contents in some commercially important bivalve molluscs were analysed. Higher protein content in Paphia malabarica, lipid content in Crassostrea cattuckensis and Carbohydrate content in Paphia malabarica were observed. All of the five species investigated during this study i. e. Meretrix meretrix (Linnaeus, 1758), Paphia textile (Gmelin, 1791), Paphia malabarica (Dillwyn, 1817), Perna viridis (Linnaeus, 1758) and Crassostrea cattuckensis (Newton & Smith, 1912) have been recommend as nutritious food sources.
