A Cross Sectional Survey on Anterior Teeth Fractures among 12 and 15 Year Old School Going Children of Lucknow District

Abstract

Aim

To find the anterior teeth fractures among children of 12 and 15 year old of Lucknow.

Material and Method

1198 school going children were selected by multistage cluster random sampling technique. A total of 594 respondents from urban area and 604 from rural area were surveyed for the present study. Anterior teeth fractures were assessed using WHO Oral Health Assessment form 1997. Chi-square test was used to test the significance of the association between two factors.

Results

Males were more affected in both sector, which was statistically significant at p<0.002.

Conclusion

Teachers should be trained to undertake certain screening and assessment procedures so that painful consequences related to traumatic injuries could be avoided.
