Abstract

The study was conducted on visuals shown on Reservation-related pages of Facebook and the response given on them. Hypothesis will be that Facebook-active population is not neutral to the Reservation Policy; contrarian behaviour is freely expressed for visuals shown on Facebook; and anti-reservation pages are more popular than pro-reservation pages. Data were collected with the help of at least 10 Caste-based Reservation Visuals shown on Facebook. Visuals were selected from different Facebook pages related to Reservation Policy in India. Among all the visuals shown on Facebook, the top 10 most responded visuals wwere selected for the study. Independent variable included visuals shown on Facebook and Dependent variable includes response of the subjects. Attempts were made to get an insight in developing Contrarian behaviour in Facebook-Active population.
