Gender and Locale Differences in Psychological Well-Being among Adolescents

Abstract

This study examined psychological well-being among adolescents of Varanasi district. A sample of 400 adolescents was selected ‘100 urban and 100 rural and 200 female adolescents (again each from rural and urban areas). The age range of the partisans was 15 to 18 years. Psychological well-being scale developed by Sisodia and Choudhary (2005) was used to measure the psychological wellbeing. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. Results of the study revealed that there was no significant gender difference regarding psychological well-being. Further, the findings revealed no significant difference between urban and rural adolescents. Hence the hypotheses of the study are accepted.
