Abstract Generalized lung infection was diagnosed in ten buffaloes based on history and clinical signs viz. fever, depression and dyspnea, decreased production, inappetance to anorexia, open mouth breathing and nasal discharges. Emphasis was given to rule out other systemic involvement, laboratory examinations and clinical findings. Palpation, percussion and auscultation of lungs bilaterally was the main course of diagnosis. The animals were treated with broad spectrum antibiotics having synergistic effect with maximum availability in lung tissues, anti-inflammatories, B. complex and rumenotorics. In some cases, diuretics and parasympatholytic (anti cholinergic) drugs were also used. All animals recovered uneventfully except one which died due to chronic lung damage and abscessation.
