Abstract Mentally retardation is a developmental disability that can appear from the birth of a child. Siblings lack in their knowledge about mental retardation and have negative attitude towards mentally challenged children. A pre experimental study to assess the effectiveness of psychodrama on siblings ’support among siblings ’of mentally challenged children in a selected setting, Chennai. The objectives were to assess the existing level of siblings ’support among siblings of mentally challenged children, to assess the effectiveness of psychodrama on siblings ’support among siblings of mentally challenged children, to associate the mean improvement score of siblings ’support of mentally challenged children with selected demographic variables. Sixty siblings of mentally challenged children who fulfill the inclusive criteria were selected as sample of the study. The mean score of existing level of support among mentally challenged children was 62.33 and S.D was 3.93 which showed that there was a high statistical significant difference in the level of siblings ’support and the calculated ‘t ’value of 11.58 at p<0.001 level. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant improvement in the level of sibling support from moderately adequate after the administration of intervention.
