Abstract We are living in 21st century. The whole world is passing through the process of globalization, privatization and liberalization, therefore a climate which promotes innovation or newness is absolutely essential for any system or organization for its growth and development. ICT has become one of the basic building blocks of modern society. This is the era of Information Communication Technology, so to perk up educational planning it is indispensable to implement the ICT in Education sector. A teacher being a pivot in the process of teaching and learning, knowledge of ICT and skills to use ICT in teaching learning has gained immense importance for today‘s teacher. A teacher is expected to know successful integration of ICT into his/her subject area to make learning meaningful. ICTs in education are not transformative on their own transformation requires teachers who can use technology to improve student learning. ICT integration in teaching and learning is being perceived as a necessity and is growing exponentially. The present paper focuses on the impact of ICT on teaching and learning.
