Abstract

Studies on correlation between impact of education and indoor air pollution on health have shown that education is the most important variable impacting health indices. Health itself also has an impact on education and thus health and education are jointly determined. Through the correlation values, calculated for the APL's and BPL's fuel consumption it has been found that very few BPL's are diseased and the APL's are rarely diseased. Whereas the calculated correlation wood consumption values for APL's and BPL's show that very few BPL's are diseased and APL's may or may not be diseased with the use of wood i.e. in both the cases of wood and fuel consumption BPL's are very few diseased but APL's may or may not be diseased or rarely diseased. The study also shows that the education level of the BPL's is very low and that of APL's is high. Among all the educated people BPL's were found to be very few primary, middle school, high school, intermediate, graduate pass whereas majority of APL's are educated and have passed the higher classes among all educated people in comparison to BPL's. In case of post graduates majority of both APL's and BPL's are not post graduates whereas the professional degree holders are negligible i.e. the higher level of education in these villages is nearly nil.
