Abstract The study encompasses the price forecasting tool as a method of identifying the value of the agro products in near future. The main objective of this analysis is to support the farmers specially the women who are indulging themselves for farming due to increase role of families responsibilities, rise in values of food items, migration of men for white collar jobs, less availability of farm labour and children education. So the paper focuses on measuring the price of green gram of Odisha (India) in near future and confirming the method as best fitted technique to identify the future marketing price of all the agro products. The seasonal ARIMA (1, 1, 1) (1, 0, 1), S=4 model is best fitted for forecasting of price as study reveals. The weekly price forecasting is done for the green gram of Odisha. This forecasting will help farmers to reap maximum benefits by taking on time marketing decisions. Hence, farmers are suggested to reschedule their crop plan according to the price forecast.
