Abstract In recent era, the Quality of life arises as a major aspect related to life of an individual. It deals with various dimensions such as bodily state, self esteem, self psychological health, social support, spirituality etc. The purpose of study was to compare the quality of life between mothers of children with intellectual disability and mothers of normal children. 150 mothers whose children age range was 6–14 years participated in the research. Mothers were divided into two groups, 50 mothers of children with intellectual disability and 100 mothers of normal children were selected from Uttarakhand. For data collection, World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF) of Hindi version was filled by the mothers. The significant difference was found between both groups. The mothers of children with intellectual disability showed lower quality of life as compared to mothers of normal children. Various psychological and social programmes should be designed and implemented to improve the quality of life of mothers. Top Keywords Quality Of Life (QOL), mothers of special children. Top |
