Perception of manufacturers towards gst Dr Anuradha P S*, Ms. Raj Nompi**, Mr. Kushal B S** *Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Christ University, Bangalore **Research Scholar, Department of Commerce, Christ University Online published on 14 December, 2017. Abstract India moved from multiple indirect taxation regimes to GST on 1st July, 2017. The need of a new taxation system arose because of numerous and non-uniform taxes existing in different states across the country. This conversion led to much confusion among the manufacturers as to the compliance with the new law. This study aims to understand the manufacturer's awareness level of GST, their attitude towards the said taxation policy and various problems faced due to the implementation of GST. A survey was carried out to acquire the data from 80 managers of manufacturing companies from 3 industrial areas of Bangalore using questionnaire method. With a response rate of 93.75% (75 responses), the mean values show an overall trend of 4.00 and above indicating that the majority of the manufacturers are aware of the GST policy and they also show a positive attitude towards the effects of GST on the companies. The manufacturers have also agreed to the areas of difficulties faced by them due to the implementation of GST. Top Keywords GST, Perception, Manufacturers, Indirect Taxation, Awareness and Attitude.
